Picking Fabric Colors

I choose a monochromatic color scheme to mimic water and create a serene vibe to this design. I started by selecting the turquoise background to represent the essence of water - using scraps from my FOUNTAIN SQUARE pattern. I then wanted to use a darker tone to convey depth & mystery and decided to use scraps from my stash. I combined smaller scraps into large 11 inch squares for this modern flying geese quilt pattern.
